There's something special about spending a Sunday morning in a bakery.
The smell of fresh baked goods.
Coffee in hand.
Good conversation.
Learning something new alongside people from your own community.
That's exactly what this workshop is all about.
I'm excited to be partnering with Holy Roller Pie Company in Parkhill for a special summer sourdough experience designed for beginners who have always wanted to learn how to make their own sourdough bread.
Whether you're completely new to sourdough or you've tried before and felt overwhelmed, this workshop will walk you through the process in a way that feels practical, and enjoyable.
Over two relaxed hours, you'll mix your own dough, learn the foundations of successful sourdough baking, and leave with everything you need to continue at home.
And while you'll absolutely learn the how-to, what I love most about these workshops is what happens beyond the bread.
People connect.
Questions get answered.
Confidence grows.
And suddenly homemade bread doesn't feel intimidating anymore.
Imagine fresh loaves for summer sandwiches, backyard BBQs, weekend brunches, and simple dinners built around good food and seasonal ingredients.
By the end of the workshop, you'll head home with:
๐งบ Your own prepared sourdough dough ready to bake
๐พ A live sourdough starter
๐ฅ Beginner sourdough tools and supplies
๐ Step-by-step guidance and resources
๐ The confidence to keep baking long after the workshop ends
This is a hands-on experience, a chance to learn a traditional skill, and a wonderful way to spend a summer morning in one of the area's favourite local bakeries.
Come for the bread, stay for the experience, and leave with a new skill you'll enjoy all summer long.
